Blue LLP partner Dhamian Blue has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the AME Church Retirement Fund Litigation, an MDL currently pending in federal court in the Western District of Tennessee. As a member of the Steering Committee, Blue joins a select number of accomplished plaintiffs’ attorneys who will oversee the conduct of the litigation.
The case, filed on behalf of approximately 5,000 current and former AME church employees, alleges the mismanagement of approximately $90 million of invested retirement funds. Several cases have been consolidated in the MDL.
Blue has held other leadership roles in complex litigation cases. He previously has served as co-lead counsel in a wage and hour class action (resulting in a settlement class) and as liaison counsel in two securities class actions (both resulting in settlement classes). He also has represented plaintiffs in cases alleging violations of the Sherman Act and North Carolina’s Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
